By Bettina and Herman
Week five has gone by in a hurry! We can only confirm the old saying: time flies when you’re having fun (and in our case, learning new things within your area of interest).
As it is mid-July the trading floor is rather quiet these days, and thus we have had the opportunity to dig deep into our projects and be a bit nerdy without daily disturbances from other smaller projects and tasks. Another positive aspect of being fewer on the trading floor, is that everybody here is relatively available, and we have had more time to talk with analysts and traders about their work and the financial markets.
Bettina and I have been spending time doing research on some of the companies in which the chief analyst, Hans Erik Jacobsen, is covering. It has been very interesting to work with one of the top analysts of the Norwegian industrial sector, and we must admit that we have felt the pressure on delivering research which can add value to his coverage of the companies. Although we think we have done a good job and look forward to presenting our results to our colleagues. To the right you see Herman practicing his presentation before showing the results to his colleagues.
Graduates vs. interns once again
As usual we played floorball against the graduates on Tuesday. And unfortunately, we got beaten yet again. So, in other words, nothing new there…
As the weather has been amazing, we decided to utilize the roof terrace for an outdoor lunch – and we all agreed that this was something we must repeat! Eating sushi with a great view overlooking Oslo was, in lack of other words, brilliant. And to have a drink on a Friday night, as on the picture to the right, also contributes to making the intern-adventure unforgettable.
