Wow, it’s been some busy weeks. In the sixth week of our internship, we were busy working on a Nordic Case Competition – framed by Nordea graduates, once interns at Nordea Markets. In this contemporary case we should analyse the financial risks of one of Nordea’s large corporate customers, and subsequently outline recommendations on how to help the customer to manage and mitigate these risks.
In terms of practicalities, the teams were formed across the Nordic countries, thus we all got to communicate with fellow Nordea employees in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. It was exiting to collaborate with other nationalities and to achieve valuable experience in communicating via Skype and in professional English.
Moreover, it was interesting to see how we could combine and utilise our different skills and backgrounds to come up with suitable recommendations and make a good presentation. We worked on the Case more-or-less to the very end – some of us handed in the case just a few hours before the deadline Sunday night.
Insights from Summer Academy
The week went by pretty fast, and in this week’s Summer Academy session, we learned about foreign exchange (FX) and different products that Nordea offers its clients. Among other topics, the presenter talked about how trading of foreign exchange has evolved the last decades due to the digital revolution that we face today, which sort of put things in perspective.
Afterwards, the class socialized – and had a good time, as always.
