I am studying a master’s degree in economics at Örebro University. Once a year, Nordea and the university jointly enable a week-long internship at Nordea Markets as a scholarship. I am very grateful for receiving the opportunity since it allowed me to obtain insight about Nordea and finance overall.
And what a week! During my internship at Nordea Markets’ in Stockholm, I rotated between different desks at the trading floor, learning about Fixed Income, Currencies and Equites. There are definitely something unique about the atmosphere at the trading floor, and the days passed by quickly. I also met with the Investment Bank which was educational and a lot of fun.
There are several positions were I could see myself working in the future. I found Risk Advisory very interesting, the feeling of working together in a team, and in a close relationship with the customer in order to establish the best solution. I also found Equity Research exciting, where the work is highly analytical.
Challenging, smart and attractive
What appealed to me the most about Nordea Markets is the mix of people with different backgrounds, skills and ages. Even though many are highly specialized within their field, it is teamwork that matters. During the week I met with a lot of smart people, who together create a satisfying environment. Everyone I met was very nice and made it clear to me that there were no stupid questions.
Nordea seems to be an employer who offers challenges and various employments. My view is that people enjoy working within Nordea and that there is a great flexibility within the bank, which makes it an attractive employer.
