Future Finance Professional programme

At Nordea Markets, Large Corporates & Institutions (LC&I) in Finland, we believe in talent and in great relationships. This is why we find most of our junior employees through our own internship programme, the Future Finance Professional (FFP) programme.

Whether you have recently graduated or are about to graduate, we offer an exciting opportunity for you to kick-start your career through our FFP programme.

To ensure a steep learning curve, we offer training and challenging tasks throughout the summer. On top of that, you will build a large network in the Finnish financial sector and participate in social events with fellow FFPs. You will be assigned to a department within Markets, LC&I from May throughout September. From day one, you will be an integral part of the team and move towards customer contact and trade execution. You will also take part in summer projects with other FFPs.

A wide variety of roles in Front Office and Middle Office

The various positions offered in the FFP programme are unique combinations which match your aspirations and competences within Front Office and/or Middle Office, Finance & Risk Control (FRC).

FRC has the responsibility for ensuring efficient compliance to financial risks relating to Markets, LC&I activities – moreover, we actively support sustainable development. See what it’s about – click on the photo to the right.

Controller (Middle Office): Controllers are characterized by having excellent IT competences and a general curiosity towards data, products, and capital markets business. FFPs in FRC will be employed in one of the following sections: Financial Control, Valuation Control, Product Control, Risk & Capital Control.

Assistant Sales Manager (Front Office): Assistant Sales Managers will from day 1 be involved in real customer cases and attend client meetings. You will learn about financial markets, relevant macroeconomic topics and gain skills in customer interaction in close collaboration with colleagues.

What it takes and what it’s like

In general, we expect you to be a high performer in your Masters level studies. But more than anything, we are looking for the right attitude and aptitude. Here are few examples of traits that will help you shine:

  • Great social and communication skills
  • Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • A keen interest in financial markets
  • Excellent in English, verbal and written
  • Ability to work and make decisions under pressure
  • Strong personal integrity
